Bimini Road

Bimini Road began with a clever little boy and a dream. "Let's make a circle!" Shadowtext threw out the idea and got lackluster support, but once he gets an idea in his head, he tends to badger other people until they cave into it, so here we are.

The idea is pretty simple. For the most part, the members of Bimini Road work on their own projects alone. Sometimes one might ask the others for advice or even small contributions, but the others aren't obligated to do either, really. The Bimini Road circle is more of a collective than a studio, and that's the important thing to remember.

Essentially, Bimini Road is a label under which its members place their projects, mostly as a way of spreading awareness of one another's works. They know each other and can vouch for the others' abilities or whatever well enough that they are willing to have their projects classified with their own. It's a very casual arrangement, but a nice one nonetheless.

Group Projects

Very occasionally, Group Projects might crop up where different members of Bimini Road are all working on the same project. So far, these have mostly had middling success. Anthology, for instance, is a project most of Bimini Road would like to forget, and Anywhere has been stuck in Development Hell for far too long, though it was much more successful than Anthology. At present, Bimini Road has begun a group project tentatively referred to as the Academy Arcane project, which is actually several games made individually set in the same place and time, but following different characters' adventures.

Like with requests for help or contributions, Bimini Road members are not obligated to participate in Group Projects. Though if Shadowtext is involved, there's a good chance he'll badger everyone who shows the slightest bit of interest.

Other Media

Because the members of Bimini Road have other interests than just game making, it is possible that the Bimini Road label may at some point be applied to things other than just games. If that's the case, just go with it. Though Bimini Road is nominally a "game making and distribution circle," it's really much more of a group of friends, so there's no problem in members considering their non-gaming projects "Bimini Road Projects."
